About Brenda

Throughout a distinguished career in philanthropy and community advocacy Brenda distributed millions of dollars in grants to major art institutions on behalf of philanthropically minded corporations. Throughout the years she was drawn to the art and creative community and served on countless nonprofit boards and event committees. Brenda fiercely advocated for art organizations and individual artists through her service on the Phoenix Arts and Culture Commission and while contracted as executive director of Arizona’s statewide arts advocacy group. She vigorously lobbied at the local, state and national level for public funding for the arts and art education. Brenda has always passionately supported our community of creatives – the individuals who dedicate themselves to making our lives more beautiful and meaningful through art. Following professional retirement in 2020, Brenda embarked upon a new career as an artist and art facilitator.

artist statement

My intention with Heart Centered Art is to not only create personal art from my heart, but to facilitate small groups of individuals who gather to create, connect and express themselves through the joy of unearthing their own creativity.

Whether in a gathering of friends or out amongst the natural beauty of a forest, desert or oceanside, I feel deeply connected to the uniqueness of God’s creations and gain inspiration from the celebration of life in its many forms. I am inspired to honor, protect and beautify life through my art, celebrating everyone and every living thing just as they are.
